Eliezer Sukenik [1889-1953]

Definition: Polish born archaeologist Eliezer Sukenik emigrated to Palestine in 1912. There, he worked at Hebrew University and excavated at Jerusalem, Beit-Alpha and Hammat-Gader. He was closely associated with the Dead Sea Scrolls, spending much of his latter career working on them. He is also the father of influential politician/archaeologist Yigal Yadin.
