Stephen Thomas

Definition: Yacht captain and navigator Stephen Thomas is best known for his participant observation work with Polynesian navigator Mau Piailug and anthropologist Ward Goodenough. Together, they recorded navigational techniques used by master navigators traversing the Carolina Islands.
