Ruth E. Tringham

Definition: British archaeologist Ruth Tringham's career has been primarily focused on the neolithic and chalcolithic communities of eastern Europe, such as Opovo, Selevac, Podgoritsa, and, most recently, as part of the research team investigating Çatalhöyük. Educated at the University of Edinburgh under Stuart Piggott and David Clarke, Tringham is a strong voice in the field for feminist archaeology and multivocality. She is currently teaching and writing at the University of California at Berkeley.
