Definition: Indian archaeologist Madho Sarup Vats excavated at Harappa in the 1920s and 1930s, under the aegis of the Archaeological Survey of India. Trained by Sir Mortimer Wheeler, M.S. Vats spent many years excavating at Harappa, in particular at the building called the Great Granary, but also excavated at Deogarth.
