Alan John Bayard Wace [1879-1957]

Definition: English archaeologist Alan J.B. Wace conducted archaeological work throughout the classical Mediterranean, at sites such as Sparta, Mycenae, Hisarlik, Corinth, Geraki, and Alexandria. During World War I Wace was director of the British School at Athens, and was associated with Cambridge University and Farouk I University in Egypt.
