Carl Watzinger [1877-1948]

Definition: German archaeologist Carl Watzinger is perhaps best known for his work at Jericho alongside Ernst Sellin between 1907 and 1908. Educated as a classical archaeologist at the universities of Bonn and Heidelberg, Watzinger was professionally associated with the University of Berlin and the University of Tübingen, and a long-standing member of the Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts.
