Definition: American archaeologist H. Martin Wobst is a theoretical archaologist, whose greatest contribution to the field is probably the investigation of the possible uses of styles, and what they might communicate about ethnic affiliations and social status. Educated at the University of Michigan, Wobst is associated with the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
