Aegean Cultures

Definition: The term Aegean Cultures refers to the Bronze Age civilizations (ca 3100-1100 BC) which were located on the islands in the arm of the Mediterranean called the Aegean Sea and on the adjacent Greek mainland (and sometimes western Turkey). More specifically, Aegean refers to the precursors to the Classical Greek civilization.
