Afanasievo culture

Definition: The Afanasievo culture is an Eneolithic (the period between the Neolithic and Bronze ages) culture of southern Siberia (4500-4000 BP). It is located in the Upper Yenissei Valley of central Asia, and is characterized by copper tools and pastoralism, agriculture, and hunting economies. Followed by the Andronova culture in traditional central Asia chronologies.
