Alpine Lake Dwellings

Definition: Alpine Lake Dwellings are a type of archaeological site found at the edge of lakes in the Alps or other mountainous regions, consisting of Neolithic through Iron Age villages and almost always exhibiting excellent preservation. First Investigated by Swiss archaeologist Ferdinand Keller in the 1850s.
