Definition: The Anglo-Saxons were peoples who originated in northern Germany and Scandinavia, and who invaded Britain during the 5th century AD and ruled the country until the Norman Conquest of 1066 AD. If there is any reality whatsoever to the King Arthur legend, he was probably an Anglo-Saxon leader of the 5th century AD. The descendants of the Anglo-Saxons appear to be legion in the world today.
