Books for the Professional Archaeologist
Some books, but by no means the most, are intended for the bookshelf of the working archaeologist. Here is a sample of what has turned up on my desk.

Shovel Bum: the 'Zine Trent de Boer's comic book for Altamira Press called Shovel Bum is a terrific and entertaining introduction to the grimy world of the archaeological field technician.
Cobble Circles and Standing Stones highly recommend Cobble Circles and Standing Stones for anybody interested in the Chiriqui or Costa Rican archaeology, but also for anybody contemplating a career in archaeology, or just curious to understand how the science of archaeology works.
The Archaeology of Rock Art - Archaeology Book Review The global perspective of the articles considered as a whole provides a broad brush view of cross-cultural ideas, while bibliographies in each of the chapters allow one to investigate the various sites more intensely. Overall, I would say this book is ideal for anyone seeking a global understanding of the various forms of rock art in the world
