The site of Berry-au-Bac is a Neolithic site (specifically, a Linearbandkeramik site) in the Paris Basin of France. Dated between about 4500-4000 BC, Berry-au-Bac is considered a Late to Post Bandkeramik site, and it is one of the latest and furthest east sites of the LBK culture.
Archaeological work at Berry-au-Bac has defined a settlement of rectangular timber buildings enclosed by a ditch with a palisade line. The enclosure is clearly a defensive structure.
The town and site of Berry-au-Bac was damaged during World War I, and, ironically anough, has been the focus of archaeological investigations concerning that component as well.
