Definition: The Boxgrove site is a Middle Stone Age site located in a stone quarry in West Sussex England. The site contains several localities dated to approximately 500,000 years ago, including Q1/B, which included both animal bones and stone tools. Hominin skeletal remains recovered from the site are at the moment limited to a tibia and a couple of teeth representing Homo heidlebergensis. The site is being investigated by the University College London under the direction of Mark Roberts and Matthew Pope.
