People walk past the Jiefang Gate section of the Ming Dynasty City Wall on May 12, 2008 in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province, China. The Ming Dynasty City Wall, first built in 1366, is one of the most well preserved city walls in China with sections in good condition measuring about 23.74 kilometers.
