Kris Hirst New World Clovis Site Points![]() Image courtesy of the Center for the Study of the First Americans, Texas A&M University Clovis points from various sites in North America It has to be said by somebody: part of the attraction of studying the first well-documented people in the Americas is the stunning beauty of the Clovis point, used by hunter-gatherers throughout the North American continent from about 11,500 to 10,000 years ago. These points are from several sites throughout the world, and the photograph was published in conjunction with a news report about the redating of Clovis (and by definition, pre-Clovis), in the following article:
