Can Llobateres (Spain)

Definition: Can Llobateres is a Middle Miocene site in Spain, where fossilized remains of the extinct ape Dryopithecus fontani were recovered and have been to between 9-10 million years ago. Disocvered in the early 1990s by Miguel Crusafont, and excavated by members of the Crusafont Paleontological Institute in Sabatell Spain, the site has contained parts of a skull and sub-cranial elements of a single Dryopithecus individual.
