Alfonso Caso [1896-1971]

By , About.com Guide

Definition: Mexican archaeologist Alfonso Caso was trained at the Colegio Nacional, and was the head or an important founding member of almost every important scientific institution in Mexico. His most important excavations, probably, are those he conducted at Monte Alban in the Valley of Oaxaca; and he was unlike many archaeologists an extremely prolific writer.
