Chahai (China)

By , About.com Guide

Definition: Chahai is the name of an archaeological site in China, near Fuxin in Liaoning Province, Manchuria, and belonging to the early Neolithic Xinglongwa culture. Dated between 5712-5530 BC, Chahai was a small (about eleven houses) early farming community, although only stone tools support this identification. Hypothesized to be the ancestors of the Hongshan (or Jade Dragon) culture.
