Birkbeck College (London) Archaeology Short Courses
Birkbeck College runs a number of summer training excavations each year in conjunction with Syon Park and the Museum of London Archaeology Service, at Syon Park, Brentford, in the London Borough of Hounslow. Heritage Resources Management
The University of Nevada at Reno, with the ACHP, has been providing excellent short courses on "Introduction to Section 106 Review", in many cities throughout the year for several years. Additional courses this year include NEPA training, historic structures documentation, and preparing historic contexts. Marine Archaeology: Aegean Institute
Summer 2004. The Aegean Institute. Through a combination of field work and classroom sessions, students will discover the significant role of the marine element in the development of Aegean cultures. Papyrological Summer Institute
30 June - 1 August 2003. Yale University's Beinecke Library. A papyrological institute will be held in the summer of 2003, the first in a series of institutes organized under the auspices of the American Society of Papyrologists. Scholars and advanced doctoral candidates in any relevant area of ancient studies are welcome to apply. Persian and Turkish Language Programs
Most Summers. Hagop Kevorkian Center at NYU conducts several intensive summer language programs giving students the equivalent of one year of language study. Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis
September 10-17, 2006. University of Siena. The 16th annual International Summer School in Archaeology is aimed at students, post-graduates, researchers and professionals in the field wishing to strengthen their skills in quantitative methods and data analysis. Seminar on Architectural Restoration
Year-round. The Centro Internazionale de Studi di Architecttura Andrea Palladio conducts several courses on the history of architecture, and architectural restoration. Slavic, East European and Central Asian Languages
June 18-August 13, 2004. Indiana University. The Summer Workshop provides up to 160 participants in Slavic, East European and Central Asian languages the opportunity to complete a full year of college language instruction during a single eight-week summer session. Study Abroad: Greece
May 26-June 29, 2003. Austin Peay State University. Introduction to Greece, combining Ancient Greek Art and Archaeology, and Modern Greek Language. Summer Institute in Materials Science & Material Culture
June 67-17, 2005. NSF-funded short course at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, "to encourage and assist faculty at liberal arts colleges in introducing materials science and engineering to their undergraduate curricula." The Land of Hellas: Ancient Topography - Modern Legacy
May 15 - June 13, 2004. University of Richmond, study in Greece. Visiting the great sites of the remains of Classical and Byzantine Greece, we will explore them as we examine the modern country and its role in the world today. No Greek thinks of himself or herself as European while at the same time considering every European to be in legacy a Greek. |
