Definition: The Dalton culture is the name given to one of the cultures dated to the Late Paleoindian, early Archaic (10,500-10,000 years BP) period in the North American continent, primarily in the American southeast. Dalton points are long, lanceolate points with a concave base that looks a lot like fluting, and are found throughout the Mississippi River valley, like the Sloan site in Arkansas.
