Doumenzhen (China)

By , About.com Guide

Definition: Doumenzhen was a capital of the Chou (or Zhou) Dynasty, China (1050-256 BC). Located on the east bank of the Feng River, Doumenzhen includes a palace zone with at least ten separate buildings, the largest of which measures nearly 3400 square meters. Bronze hoards, storage pits, wells, and residential caves and semi-subterranean houses have been found there during recent excavations.

I could find nothing on the web in English or other western language about this important site as yet. See Yang's New Perspectives on China's Past for information.
