Definition: Dowth is the name of a Megalithic passage tomb in the Brugh na Bóinne valley of Ireland, dated to the Early Neolithic period. It is within three kilometers of two others, Newgrange and Knowth, and like those, Dowth probably represented a regional center for the Neolithic farmers of Ireland and Northern Britain. Dowth is aligned with the winter solstice.
