Definition:

The archaeological region of Hyrax Hill is an area investigated by Louis and Mary Leakey that receives little attention, simply because it is not among the most ancient of sites in Kenya typically thought of as Leakey sites.

Hyrax Hill was occupied beginning in the Neolithic period about three thousand years ago, with a small village and cemetery in evidence. Also in evidence is a collection of Sirikwa Holes, dating to the Iron Age occupation.
