The seat of the Vijayanagara empire called Hampi was established in 1336 A.D, and by the later 14th Century the city covered about 26 square kilometers. The Vijayanagara empire covered the states of Karnataka, Andhra and Maharashtra in India. This photograph is of the reconstructed foundations of the 'Queen's Palace'.
