Definition:
The Kutama tradition is the name given to the archaeological remains of a Berber tribe in Algeria, who might be descendants of the Byzantine Ucucutmani people.
When the Kutama became Muslim in the 10th century AD, the Kutama under the leadership of Abu 'abd Allah, revolted against the Arab dynasty of Aghlabids and put in place the Fatimid dynasty of the Persian Empire.
