Vis (Russia)

The Vis sites are two peat bogs near Lake Sindor in the Vychegda basin of Russia, in which have been found the remains of worked wooden objects, including wooden skis and sledge runners; Vis I is a Mesolithic site dated between 8300-7900 years old.

Howick (England, United Kingdom)

The Howick Mesolithic site is one of the earliest recorded residential structures in Britain. Hearths radiocarbon-dated to circa 7800 BC are associated with a hut showing evidence of three occupations.

Balma de l'Abeurador (France)

Balma de l'Abeurador is a rockshelter located 50 kilometers inland from the Mediterranean Sea on the southern edge of the Massif Central in what is now southwestern France. This Mesolithic site contained the carbonized remains of legumes (lentils, chick peas), dated between 10,000 and 8,000 years ago, that appear to be domesticated.

Tybrind Vig (Denmark)

Tybrind Vig is a Late Mesolithic (Ertebølle) period settlement on the west coast of the Danish island of Fynen. The site currently lies submerged some 250 meters out from the current coastline of the island.
