Grave goods recovered from the grave to date include an array of copper and gold-plated copper ornaments. Artifacts include a thin hammered gold headdress in the shape of a V stamped with a feline figure, a copper sword and some copper clubs, all of which demonstrate the importance of this personage. It is clear that this person was not as important as The Lord of Sipán, whose richly furnished grave was discovered in 1987, but his specific status and function in the highly ritualized Moche society will be identified during later investigations.

At present, researchers Walter Alva and Antonio Aimi are of the opinion that this burial represents Figure D of the Sacrifice Ceremony illustrated in Moche iconography. But, excavations will continue slowly, because of the fragility of the copper and gold artifacts, and it will be a while before a firm identification can be made.
