David Oates [1924-2003]

Definition: British archaeologist David Oates spent much of his career excavating in the middle east, most importantly at Nimrud and Tell al-Rimah in Iraq and Tell Brak in Syria. He was at the Institute of Archaeology in London. He worked with Max Mallowan, Kathleen Kenyon, and his wife Joan Brak.
