Definition:
The archaeological site called Plum Piece is an aceramic shell midden site on tiny Saba Island in the northern Lesser Antilles east of Puerto Rico.
The site is at 400 meters above sea level in a tropical forest, very unusual for Ortoiroid culture sites. The assemblage includes ground and flaked stone tools and flaked shell adzes. Excavations at Plum Piece were conducted recently by Corinne Hoffman and Menno Hoogland.
