Peiligang (China)

Definition: The Peiligang site is the type site of a Neolithic culture of the Liao basin of southwest Manchuria, dated between 7000-5000 BC. The Peiligang culture is located in the middle and lower Yellow River valley, and is among the earliest farming cultures of the world, as evidenced by millet remains and associated tools such as sickles and grinding stones.
