William Pengelly [1812-1894]

Definition: William Pengelly was a British geologist who excavated Kent's Cavern in the mid-19th century. His work in Kent's cavern and other local caves in England emphasized the importance of deposits that can be found there, and Pengelly strongly advocated scientific exploration of them.
