Definition: The Plimouth Plantation is the name given to the living history park in the near location of the archaeological site, remnants of a 17th century English colony called Plymouth. Home to the myth of the Pilgrims and the First Thanksgiving, Plymouth colony was founded in 1620 at an abandoned Wampanoag village site called Patuxet. Plimouth Plantation is open to the public, with re-enactor exhibits and a museum and gift shop.
