Definition: Pohanska is a fortified settlement of the 9th century AD located near Brno, in the Czech Republic. The medieval Slavic site includes approximately twelve timber houses, a larger house structure, and a church in an area of about 265 by 300 foot, surrounded by a palisade enclosure; archaeologists interpret it as a lordly dwelling, because of its size, settlement pattern, and the presence of a church.
