Definition: The Pre-Dorset culture is a North American arctic culture of Greenland and Canada, first appearing there about 4500 years ago; the people probably arrived from Siberia. The culture is closely related to Denbigh and the other Arctic Small Tradition culture called Independence I, and eventually evolved into Dorset 2800 or so years ago.
