Definition: The Qinglian'gang Culture [5300-5800 BP] were an early Neolithic culture of the lower Yangtse River of central China; or maybe two cultures would be more accurate. Evidence at sites north of the Yangtse indicates the residents were millet farmers, while south of the Yangtse rice was the dominant crop; and there is a corresponding difference in ceramic styles. Also, Qinglian'gang is the name of the type site, near Shanghai, China.
