The Ivory Bangle Lady (United Kingdom)

The Ivory Bangle Lady is the name of a burial located in the town of York, England. This young woman, of clearly elite status, was buried with a large number of expensive grave goods, including beads, earrings and pendants of blue glass, jet and ivory, a glass mirror, and this beautiful blue glass jug.

Roman Roads

The Romans could not have conquered anyone, if they did not have access to existing roadways, and the technology to improve them. Some of the greatest works of architecture created by the Romans were actually the roadways. Many fragments of these roads still exist today, scattered throughout the colonies of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
