Oliver Rackham

Definition: British historical ecologist Oliver Rackham has had a long distinguished career, with ecological studies completed in Sardinia, Crete, Texas, Australia and Japan. His most important work, from an archaeological standpoint anyway, includes his studies concerning the historical development of forests, trees, and woodlands in various parts of the world. He is currently a member of Corpus Christi College at Cambridge.
