Ramesseum (Egypt)

Definition: The Ramesseum is a massive temple built by the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II during his New Kingdom reign (1279-1213 BC). He built this magnificent structure in Thebes too close to the Nile, and it has suffered serious damage in the intervening millennia since its construction.
