David Rindos [1947-1996]

By , About.com Guide

Definition: American archaeologist David Rindos was primarily interested in the origins of agriculture; his 1984 book called the Origins of Agriculture is still considered one of the most important contributions to that study. Sadly, he is best known for the political battles he waged and were waged upon him during his tenure at the University of Western Australia, over charges of sexual harassment that didn't involve misconduct on his part. He died of a heart attack in 1996, far too soon.
