Definition: Professor Clive Ruggles, currently at Leicester University, has arguably done more for the public face of archaeoastronomy than anybody in the world. This is a difficult topic, because it tends to sway into the non-scientific realm so easily; but Ruggles' unfailing energy and breadth of work has greatly assisted the communication of the scientific field to the greater world.
