Sanghao Cave (Pakistan)

Definition: Sanghao Cave is a rockshelter located on the Potwar Plateau of Pakistan. Among other later components, Sanghao contains an Upper Paleolithic component. Excavated by Ahmed Hasan Dani of the University of Peshawar, the site has generated consistent radiocarbon dates between 20,000 and 40,000 years before the present; the tool assemblage is primarily microlithic.
