Edwin Booth Sayles [1892-1977]

Definition: American archaeologist E.B. Sayles excavated at rockshelters throughout Texas and the American southwest such as Granado Cave and Eagle Cave and other sites such as Snaketown and the A. C. Saunders Site. He is probably most closely associated with the Cochise culture. Based at the private foundation founded by Harold S. and Winifred Gladwin called Gila Pueblo Archaeological Foundation, Sayles also wrote a couple of archaeo-fiction classics with Mary Ellen Stevens called "Little Cloud" and "Throw Stone, The First American Boy."
