Definition: The archaeological ruins of the Congregational Mosque of Siraf are located in the port city of Siraf on the gulf coast of Iran. Excavations at the site by David Whitehouse indicate that the earliest mosque built on the site dates to the 9th century AD. Also in the area of the large mosque are a series of smaller neighborhood mosques.
