Definition: The Sui Dynasty (AD 581-618) of China, is best known for putting the pieces of China back together again, after the fall of the Han Dynasty in 220 AD (it was a long recovery). The Sui Dynasty capital was called Daxing, located at the present-day city of Xi'an; it was renamed Chang'an during the following Tang Dynasty.
