Uraha (Malawi)

Definition: The paleontological site of Uraha is located in Malawi, east Africa, and was discovered in the early 1990s by the German archaeologist Friedemann Schrenk. The cave site contained a hominin jaw bone, dated between 2.3 and 2.5 million years ago, that has been characterized as Homo rudolfensis. The site is one of several early Homo sites that have been associated with the Oldowan Tradition.
