Usujiri (Japan)

Definition: The archaeological site of Usujiri is located in the Hokkaido region of Aomori prefecture on the island of Japan. The site represents a small village belonging to the Middle Jomon period, 3000-2000 BC, and is important for its suggestion of social stratification, and evidence for deer hunting.
