Archaeology Videostore - Horror
Ancient Evil: Scream of the Mummy
2000. Archaeology students accidentally (oops!) revive an ancient Aztec (!) mummy and, of course unleash a curse. Jeff Peterson, Ariauna Albright, Russell Richardson, and from David DeCoteau, the director who brought us Beach Babes from Beyond.
The Awakening
1980. Famous archaeologist Charlton Heston (now there's an interesting choice) travels to Egypt and disturbs the spirit of an irritable Egyptian princess.
The Body
Israeli archaeologist Olivia Williams finds a skeleton beneath a shop in Jerusalem: is it Jesus? Luckily, priest Antonio Barderas is sent by the pope to help her out. With Derek Jacobi.
The Exorcist
1973. A priest with a bible in one hand and a trowel in the other; there's a scary thought. Ellen Burstyn, Max Von Sydow, and Linda Blair.
The Mole People
1956. Famous archaeologist John Agar stumbles on half-human/half-mole people. Hint: the secret weapon is a flashlight!
The Mummy: The Legacy Collection
1932. David Manners as an Egyptologist rude enough to awaken Boris Karloff from a 4,000 year old nap. A classic, not to be missed. This DVD collection includes the original movie and four sequels, including the Mummy's Hand, the Mummy's Ghost, the Mummy's Curse, and the Mummy's Tomb.
The Mummy (1959)
1959. Peter Cushing as an Egyptologist rude enough to awaken Christopher Lee from a 4,000 year old nap. I think I might like this one better than the original.
The Mummy (1999)
1999. John Hannah as an Egyptologist rude enough, blah blah blah, Arnold Vosloo as a dead ringer for Billy Zane. Also with Brendan Fraser as a dashing adventurer type, Rachel Weisz as the spunky, uh, librarian, and special effects that are pretty impressive. Sold together with the sequel as 'the Mummy Collection". I really like this movie!
Nomads
1986. Pierce Brosnan and Lesley-Anne Down chasing, as I recall, motorcycle riding, supernatural-power wielding band of nomads, including Adam Ant and Josie Cotton.
Secret of the Andes
Famous archaeologist David Keith searches for gold in Argentina, while his daughter dabbles in the supernatural. With John Rhys-Davies.
Werewolf
1996. Famous southwestern archaeologist Richard Lynch stumbles on a peculiar skeleton that the Navajo recognize as a werewolf, and all heck breaks loose.
