Visigoths

By , About.com Guide

Definition: The Visigoths were one of the Germanic kingdoms (such as Ostrogoths and Franks), who eventually spelled the end of the Roman empire. The Visiboths were forced into Spain by the Huns, but, led by King Alaric they, albeit briefly, seized Rome in AD 410. In 418 they formed an alliance with Rome and settled in Aquitaine, where they stayed for about a hundred years.
