Disagree with Invasion Theory

Thanks for a scholarly article. Neither the Vedas, the Ithihasas (epics) Ramayana and Mahabhrata, nor Sayana's commentary mention Aryans as race. There are many connotations to the word 'Aarya' none of them being a race. None of them mention a place other than India (Bharatha - meaning Seeker of Light) Many Indologist ignore the Sanskrit literature altogether. What is surprising is they ignore the religion of Indus Valley people and the worship of Pashupathi like form. Also they ignore the depiction of a yogi like diety in one of the seals. These are essentially Vedic. A comprehensive unbiased apolitical study is needed to get at the truth.

aryan-

ary-ari-ar-ya-ye-ie-n wether the distortion over time reflects the many cultural usages.the basic idea is more of the coming and goings of a superior branch of mind..the regions mentioned probably had cultures long before writings, ive found no real proofs of any.but its easy to discredit the theory that men originated from lost continents and history, the nazis found no high culture but any form of civilisation is, it depends on the observer.i believe that several remnants of lost culture migrated coming into contact with 'oldmen'the indians the meso the chinas the norse the rest had no written histories dont mean they wernt around, old science lost and rediscoverd religions evolving.what of the racial profiles they exist men are men yet several species now intermixed,a dog is a dog yet a wolf is no terrier, northern europe had its surface scraped away by the ice age and land lost, mesoportamia lies beneath the dust the indi in the mud and chi in the jungle.man arises

just searchin for answers

i was just researching this because my son is part of the "aryan brotherhood" and wondering where they got this blond hair/blue eyed notion from if the aryans came from the mid-east (persia and india)...this is so confusing

I disagree with the aryan invasion theor

It is amazing that in spite of overwhelming evidence availablem about the antiquity of the vedic people who had always dwelt in the saraswati river banks and then on the banks of Ganga were sought to be described as people who had come into India. It is a pity that some of the so called indian historians also had been agreeing to this preposterous suggestion. This civilization is old enough and resilient enough to have survived down the centuries while the other civilizations that once thrived in europe and the americas have all become history.

Folklore

—Guest JC A better word for bastardize is hermeneutics, which is a part of philology (lingustics). Hermeneutics is how words meanings change over time. In Shakespeare's day a stink was any kind of smell including pleasant; when Juliet asked, "Wherefore art thou Romeo," she was questioning his name not his whereabouts. Another interesting field is euhemerization, where ancient mythical and god-like figures get gradually trivialized into historical kings and queens, and saints, and then eventually legends, folktales and ending as nursery tales. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm demonstrated this in their book Kinder- und Hausmärchen. They were the first true folklorist in the study and preservation of such lore. Unfortunately, that started a trend in German scholarship to create a phony history for themselves as "Ubermenschen" as opposed to "Untermenschen."

Aryans

I always understood that Aryan was used to describe a group of languages, best typified today by Farsi, and perhaps some cultural features, but not racial. However, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky posited four groups of "rays," not races: Atlantean, Hyperborian, Lemurian and Aryan.

Wow

Wow what an eye opener i used to believe arayn was a race and made fun of skin heads because they failed because most of them had both brown eyes and hair failing to meet the rec. of Nazi aryan, but seems i like most of the west lost meaning of the true word meaning a group of East Indian languages and/or word meaning nobility funny how many words get bastardized over time.

I disagree with Aryan Invasion theory

i am no historian or archeologist but i understand my own culture ( indian) and can relate to VEdas and its hyms easily. The way the hyms have been interpretaed by so clled historians of the era (space was filled with ether) makes me completely discredit not only their interpretation but the intentions as well.their intensions didnot look scholistic and were well suited to the sociopolitical enviornment of that times. no credible help of any great sanskrit scholar was takes ( there are loads of them in Varanasi alone). i really find it amazing that Aryans being from europe and central Asia forgot everything about their original homeland and didnot mention any river or landmark in VEDAS. i beg to the wester scholars who treat Aryans as a race. Aryan was no race it was simply a way of intoducing a gentleman or a nobleman a close example would be adding Sir or madamme or Mr. in the modrn days names. India is also known as Aryawart .. land of Aryans. there was no preAryan or post aryanera
